For school plays, concerts and PTA events
Every seat sold. No envelopes of cash.
The school play sells out in a day, and then the office spends a week on envelopes of cash and lost tickets. Ticket Folk sells each night online, and families fetch lost tickets back on their own.
Join the waiting listHow it’s usually done
- Envelopes of cash in book bags
- Paper tickets lost before the night
- The office counting seats by hand
- Parents asking which night they booked
A limit for each night.
Make a ticket type for each performance, with as many seats as the hall holds. Tickets are held while families pay, so you never sell more than you have.
- One ticket type per night, each with a limit
- Adult and child prices
- Free tickets for staff or helpers
Nothing to lose.
Every order arrives as one email with one code, and a three-word reference grandparents can read out at the door. Lost it? Families get it back themselves from the home page.
- The email is the ticket
- A three-word reference for every order
- Lost tickets fetched back by the family
PTA helpers on the door.
Helpers check names off on their own phones, or sell the last few seats on the door. The money goes into the school or PTA’s own account.
- Check-in on any phone
- Door sales counted with the rest
- Payments into your own Stripe account
How the year goes
- Half term: Set up a ticket type for each night, with the number of seats.
- Three weeks before: Tickets go on sale on the date you set. Send families the link.
- Show week: See how many seats are left for each night at a glance.
- On the night: Helpers check families in by name or reference on the door.
Questions
- Can families choose their seats?
- Not yet. Seating is unreserved: each night has a limit, and families sit where they like. We’ll update this page if that changes.
- What about families without a smartphone?
- Every order has a three-word reference. They can read it out, or give their name, at the door.
- Do parents need an account?
- No. They pay as a guest and their tickets arrive by email. Nobody makes a password.
- Where does the money go?
- Into your school or PTA’s own Stripe account. We never hold it.
- What does it cost to sell tickets?
- Free for founding organisers while we’re starting out, with every feature, and for a year, 12 events or 1,000 tickets after our fee starts. Then 2.5% an order, never more than £2.50.
