For independent music festivals
Weekend tickets, camping and a field. One place for all of it.
An independent festival is a ticketing job, a volunteer job and a trader job at once. Ticket Folk handles all three, and the gate keeps scanning when a few thousand phones fill the same field.
Join the waiting listHow it’s usually done
- A ticket platform adding fees your crowd notices
- Volunteer crew on a form, a spreadsheet and a group chat
- Food traders and their certificates in an inbox
- A gate that stalls when the signal goes
Weekend, day and camping.
Sell weekend, day, child, camping and car parking tickets, each with its own limit. Tickets are held while people pay, so you never sell more than the field holds.
- Weekend, day and camping tickets
- Discount codes for crew and early birds
- On-sale dates you set
A gate that works in a field.
Gate crew scan on their own phones. When the network falls over, scanning doesn’t notice: check-ins queue on the phone and catch up later. Scan a ticket twice and it tells you.
- Offline check-in on any phone
- Search by name, reference or car reg
- Sell on the door from the same phone
Crew and traders, sorted.
Volunteers, food traders and stalls apply through one form. Ask volunteers for a deposit by link and refund it when they’ve done their shifts.
- Volunteer deposits, paid by link
- Trader applications with their paperwork
- A team leader for each crew
How the year goes
- Winter: Early-bird tickets go on sale. Open volunteer and trader applications.
- Spring: Approve your traders. Ask volunteers for a deposit when you approve them.
- Summer: Every crew shows who’s on it. Team leaders run their own.
- Festival weekend: Scan at the gate with or without signal. Refund deposits once shifts are done.
Questions
- What happens at the gate when thousands of phones kill the signal?
- Nothing different. Each gate phone loads the guest list while it has signal, so scans keep working when the signal drops, and sync once there’s a connection.
- Can we take refundable deposits from volunteers?
- Yes. Ask for one when you approve a volunteer, and refund it from your dashboard once they’ve done their shifts. The money goes into your own Stripe account.
- Do buyers pay a booking fee at checkout?
- No. Buyers pay the price you set, with nothing added at checkout.
- Do you show our buyers other festivals?
- Never. Your page shows your event and nothing else.
- What does it cost to sell tickets?
- Free for founding organisers while we’re starting out, with every feature, and for a year, 12 events or 1,000 tickets after our fee starts. Then 2.5% an order, never more than £2.50.
