The small print, in plain words
Organiser terms
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between Ticket Folk and you, the organiser, when you sell or give out tickets through Ticket Folk. You accept them when you create an organiser account or publish an event. If you’re signing up for a group, club or business, you confirm you’re allowed to accept them on its behalf.
1. What we provide
A storefront and checkout for your events, ticket delivery by email, check-in for your gate crew, applications and deposits for volunteers and traders, and the reports that go with them. Features may change as the platform grows. We’ll tell you before we remove anything you rely on.
2. Your account and your team
- Everyone signs in with a link sent by email, so keep your inbox secure.
- You choose who joins your team and what role each person has. You’re responsible for what they do in your account.
- Refunds ask for a code from an authenticator app. Please set one up before you sell.
3. Getting paid, through Stripe
To sell paid tickets you connect your own Stripe account. By doing so you also accept Stripe’s terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and the Stripe Services Agreement.
- Payments are made directly to your Stripe account. You are the seller, and your name appears on buyers' statements.
- Stripe takes its card processing fee from your Stripe account, at the rate in your Stripe agreement.
- Stripe pays your balance to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule. We never hold your takings.
- Disputes and chargebacks are raised against your Stripe account, and you respond to them through Stripe.
4. Our fee
While Ticket Folk is starting out, our fee is £0 on every order. When we start charging, our fee will be 2.5% of each paid order, up to a maximum of £2.50 per order, unless we’ve agreed something different with you in writing. There’s no fee on free orders or volunteer deposits, no monthly charge and no setup fee.
- The fee is taken automatically from each payment, through Stripe, when the order is paid.
- When you refund a ticket, we refund our fee on that ticket. Stripe doesn’t return its own fee on refunds.
- If you join before we start charging, you’re a founding organiser: when our fee starts, you stay free for a year, or until you’ve run 12 events or sold 1,000 tickets since it started, whichever comes first. We’ll email you when our fee starts.
- We’ll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before we change our fee. A change never applies to orders already placed.
Our pricing page works the same fee through real orders, and the fee calculator does it for your own numbers.
5. Selling fairly, and consumer law
You’re the seller, so consumer law applies to you. In particular, you agree to:
- Show total prices. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, any fee a buyer must pay has to be included in the prices you advertise, wherever you advertise them.
- Describe your event accurately: what’s included, any age limits or conditions, and access information.
- Publish a refund policy, and refund buyers if your event is cancelled or significantly changed.
- Honour the tickets you sell.
- If you allow resale, follow section 90 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
6. Your event
You’re responsible for your event: its safety, any licences and permits, insurance, and everything that happens on the day. We provide the technology. We don’t review, endorse or take responsibility for events.
7. Personal data
For the details of buyers, volunteers, traders and others who deal with your event, you are the controller and we are your processor. Our data processing agreement forms part of these terms. We’re a controller in our own right for a few things, such as fraud prevention, security and our own financial records, as explained in our privacy notice.
Use the details you receive only to run your event, and only contact buyers for marketing if they’ve agreed to it.
8. Volunteers, traders and applications
Decisions about applications are yours. Where we show an AI-written summary of an application, it’s there to help you read faster. It may be wrong, and it never makes a decision on its own. Deposits are taken into your Stripe account, and returning them is your responsibility.
9. Using Ticket Folk fairly
You agree not to:
- list an event that is fraudulent, illegal, or that you can’t deliver;
- use Ticket Folk to sell anything other than tickets, places and deposits for genuine events;
- try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the platform;
- misuse the personal details of buyers, volunteers or traders.
If we reasonably believe you’ve broken these terms, or that buyers are at risk, we may pause your sales or suspend your account. We’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond, unless the law or an urgent risk stops us.
10. Content and the platform
You own what you upload: event descriptions, photos, logos. You give us permission to display and adapt it to run and promote your events on Ticket Folk. We own the platform itself.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow to be limited. Otherwise, neither of us is liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the greater of £100 and the fees you paid us in those 12 months.
12. Ending
You can close your account at any time by emailing us, once your events are over and any refunds you owe are settled. We can end these terms with 30 days' notice, or straight away if you seriously break them. After you leave, we keep order and payment records for as long as the law requires, as described in our privacy notice.
13. Changes and law
We’ll email you about any important change to these terms at least 30 days before it applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute.
